A recent decision by the Montenegro Appeals Court has overturned the High Court of Podgorica’s ruling to extradite Terra founder Do Kwon to either the U.S. or South Korea. Kwon, the former CEO of Terra, was initially arrested in Montenegro for possessing falsified official documents and faced extradition requests from the U.S. and South Korea following the collapse of Terraform Labs. The High Court in November deemed the extradition legally valid, but the Appeals Court’s latest order, following a successful appeal by Kwon’s defense, mandates a retrial at the Podgorica Basic Court.
