Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, has been denied permission to travel to the UAE by a U.S. federal judge. This marks the second denial for Zhao, who faces criminal charges in the U.S. and is awaiting sentencing. Judge Richard Jones of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington ruled against Zhao’s travel request, citing concerns raised by prosecutors that he might be a flight risk.

The details of the sealed ruling, filed on Friday, remain undisclosed. Zhao, who sought to return to the UAE where his three children and their mother live, pleaded guilty last month to violating the Bank Secrecy Act. He was released on a $175 million personal recognizance bond, along with other financial conditions.
